Ajinomoto Vietnam granted Scholarships to Dong Nai pupils
With the desire to share the difficulties and motivate pupils on the path of seeking knowledge, on November 10th, 2018, Ajinomoto Vietnam collaborated with Dong Nai Study Encouragement Association held the ceremony of awarding "For Pupils Going to School" scholarships for 400 pupils overcoming financial difficulties and achieving good academic results in the locality.
Ms. Huynh Le Giang – Director of Dong Nai Education & Training Department thanked the Scholarship Fund for accompanying disadvantaged pupils in the province.
As one of the first enterprises to locate its production plants in Dong Nai province, Ajinomoto Vietnam is always aware that an enterprise’s growth is closely linked to the sustainable development of the province and local people.
Therefore, Ajinomoto Vietnam co-operated with Dong Nai Study Encouragement Association to found the “For Pupils Going to School” Scholarship Fund in 2003.
Since its foundation, the “For Pupils Going to School” Scholarship Fund has been awarding more than 4,000 scholarships worth nearly 4 billion VND to pupils overcoming financial difficulties and achieving good results in Dong Nai province.
This year, the Scholarship Fund continues to grant 400 scholarships worth 440 million VND, of which the main sponsor - Ajinomoto Vietnam contributes 200 scholarships, equivalent to 220 million VND.
Three other sponsors, Vietnam Japan Gas Joint Stock Company, Kureha Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Quadrille Vietnam Co., Ltd., together contribute 200 scholarships with the total value of 220 million VND.
According to Dong Nai Study Encouragement Association’s report, 369 pupils (accounting for 91%) achieved good results in the schoolyear of 2017-2018, which partly proves their efforts in studying when awarded scholarships.

In which, education should be the root for that development as we all agree that getting an education will change human’s life for the better.
Initiated by Ajinomoto Vietnam, the “For pupils going to school” scholarship has been retained for 15 years by now. This year, continually joined by “Vietnam Japan Gas Joint Stock Company”, “Quadrille Vietnam Company” and “Kureha Vietnam Company”, it is our honor to cooperate with Dong Nai Studying Encouragement Association to grant the scholarship to 400 good and disadvantaged pupils. We hope these scholarships will help pupils realize brighter future starting with an education, give them the support they need to find success in school and in life”, said Mr. Keiji Kaneko - General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam
This is an annual program of deep humanistic meanings for not only scholarship pupils but also the community. Each scholarship is a source of encouragement for pupils to constantly strive to overcome difficulties, study well, enhance their knowledge, thereby creating a sustainable foundation to contribute to the development of Dong Nai province and further, for Vietnam country.
In addition to the "For Pupils Going to School" Scholarship, Ajinomoto Vietnam has been promoting the deployment of the School Meal Project and the Vietnam Nutrition System Establishment Project, aiming to improve health and nutrition for the community. Both projects receive support and professional advice from leading nutritional organizations, particularly the National Institute of Nutrition – Ministry of Health.
Till October 2018, there have been more than 2,900 primary boarding schools in 46 provinces and cities applying the Nutrition-balanced Menu Development Software – a key content of the School Meal Project in developing boarding menus to bring pupils nutrition-balanced, diverse and delicious meals.
Besides, the Vietnam Nutrition System Establishment Project (VINEP) is being actively deployed by Ajinomoto Vietnam with the purpose of developing the human resources system in nutrition in Vietnam, including carrying out activities in nutrition training and researching, establishing nutrition related regulations and policies in order to help improve Vietnamese people’s nutritional status, stature and intellect.
