Ajinomoto co., inc. becomes the highest rank sponsor of Sea Games in Philippines
On March 6th 2019, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (“Ajinomoto Co.”) - the parent company of Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., Ltd. (“Ajinomoto Vietnam”) - signed an agreement to become an official sponsor of the highest rank of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (“SEA Games”) scheduled to be held in the Philippines from November 30th to December 11th, 2019. The biennial SEA Games are the largest sporting event held in Southeast Asia, attracting the attention of more than 600 million people in the region.

Its products cover a range of fields such as seasonings, processed foods, beverages, amino acids, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Since 2003, Ajinomoto Co. has been working on the Victory Project® to support the conditioning of top-level athletes in Japan and conducting nutritional support activities that include providing the Group products and promoting the Kachimeshi® program (“Winning meals” in Japanese) which is Ajinomoto Co.’s sports nutrition meal program for building a winning physique.
For this year’s SEA Games in the Philippines, Ajinomoto Co. is continuing to provide support as a sponsor of the highest rank following its recognition as the first Japanese company to do so in the previous event in Malaysia - KUALA LUMPUR 2017. This time, the exclusive product categories of Ajinomoto Co. being put under the agreement include seasonings, amino acid-based granules & jellies, powdered nutritional drinks, instant noodles, canned and powdered coffees, frozen foods and frozen bread. Ajinomoto Co. will use this official sponsorship of the SEA Games as an opportunity to promote further support for the ASEAN Victory Project® based on a wealth of knowhow on nutritional support for athletes the company has accumulated in Japan, through its subsidiaries in the ASEAN region; namely the Philippines, the host country of the event; Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and elsewhere.
In these countries, Ajinomoto Co. has conducted its consumer food business for many years, thus maintaining a close connection with local food cultures. Ajinomoto Co. will expand its support for sports to further contribute to advances in “food” and “health” for the general public as well as for athletes in each country.
For Vietnam, Ajinomoto Vietnam was established in 1991 as an affiliate of Ajinomoto Co, besides its business with seasonings, food and beverages; with the Company’s “Specialty” in food and health, Ajinomoto Vietnam is now undertaking initiatives in ASV (The Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value).
